This piece is a commissionned artwork that was done to celebrate a friends birthday. The only official constraint was that there needed to be a "butterflyish" creature in it.

I made this piece using a mix of 2D and 3D mediums, photo refrerences as well as old egyptian wall paintings and carvings. I wanted to explore contrasts and the passage from one state to the other... light to dark, graphic to photographic, 3D looking to flat.
